Biography

Carla Desantis is an Italian visual artist.

His pictorial research develops around the concept of presence and absence, exploring suspended emotional spaces, in which matter becomes memory and color transforms into an interior language.

Her work arises from an intimate dialogue with the surface: stratifications, glazes, and essential signs construct images that evoke, not describe. Each work is a silent space, open to interpretation, where the observer is invited to pause and recognize their own emotion. Nature, the figure, and the symbolic element emerge as traces, never as definitive representations.

Through a painting style attentive to the balance between gesture and control, light and matter, Carla Desantis explores the slow pace of the gaze. Her works do not seek an immediate response, but a contemplative, intimate, almost meditative experience.

His research is currently oriented towards an increasingly essential synthesis of sign and color, keeping the relationship between emotional sensitivity and pictorial space at its core.

She trained at the Academy of Fine Arts in Lecce.
